The flowers of Alleghany viburnum (Viburnum x rhytidophylloides 'Alleghany' ) are beautiful to look at but not such a treat to smell. Their scent attracts some of the less glamorous pollinators, such as flies that will afterward seek similar odors to find the dead things they prefer for egg-laying.
