Ash trees

Fall color

Ashes (Fraxinus species) are among the earliest trees to color in fall.

The green ash (Fraxinus pensylvanica) develops beautiful gold which may sometimes have orange and maroon highlights.

Some white ash varieties are reliably maroon in fall (Fraxinus americana 'Marshall's Seedless' is an example).

Several ash trees show the range of color possible in this genus, including one partially seen in the right foreground which is almost bare of its maroon leaves.
