Birch
Fall color
There are many birch species. Most turn yellow in fall and may
glow quite brightly some years. Many provide attractive bark: paper
birch (Betula papyrifera) haswhite bark, river birch
(Betula nigra) has peeling cinnamon/salmon/cream bark on
limbs/trunks less than 15 years old, cherry birch (Betula
lenta) has burnished red-brown bark.
