Carvers and ent-hunters love a good burl

Try to see the burl in the box, the face in the wood...

If you know a wood carver, let that person know when you acquire a burl in taking down a tree trunk, digging up a root mass, or cutting off a limb that has a lumpy growth called a burl. They make beautiful carved objects and may even be valuable raw material depending on the type of wood and size of the burl.
