 I heard this egret catch the fish it is carrying to shore, grabbed my camera and started shooting. I really like this photo with the wings spread as the bird scrabbed toward the shore.

Other egrets I've seen catch prey swallowed their fish immedately but this one carried it ashore. Wondering why it acted as it did, I continued to watch and take photos. For the surprising answer, go to the Forum.
