This lotus was in just the right light on a very sunny day that the bright yellow showed up but the white of the petals was not washed out. I waited until a cloud went across the sun to shoot.

Photography is often a waiting game. You wait for the "right" light, for the subject to stop moving or background distractions to leave the scene. The waiter is often rewarded with a wonderful photo.
