This dragonfly larva has the big eyes common to most predators. This one was in our pond and got caught as we scooped out some debris. We were glad we noticed it so we could put it back into the pond rather than tossing it with the trash. This is a prodigious predator of an undesirable pond dweller: Mosquito larvae.
