Many levels of beauty in Karen's garden
Karen's designed many gardens and tried to incorporate some of
her most fun plants and arrangements in her own. There's the upper
terrace, which looks down the hill into wooded, marshy ground.
Over the years her woods has been hit hard by gypsy moth, oak
wilt and verticillium wilt. She says, " It's been hard to keep up
with relocating shade plants (end up in full sun) due to the loss
of a large tree. Don't laugh but I enjoy waiting to see which
plants will adapt and which really need to be moved."
Karen's specialized in ponds, streams and other water features
in gardens. Ask her to come speak to your group about that
or other design topics. She received rave reviews for that topic as
her part of a symposium at the Morton
Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois.
Not everyone has the patience for bonsai, but Karen does.
